We are interested in applying theories such as the polymer field theory and the Onsager variational theory to study soft matter systems. So far our research has focused on the adsorption of polyelectrolytes onto charged surfaces, the self-assembly of block copolymers on nano-patterned surfaces and the dynamics of drying liquid droplets. In the next few years, I expect that the thrust of our research will remain in soft matter physics. Besides modeling experimental systems and setups, we are equally interested in refining numerical methods and finding for them new applications. We would like to further establish collaborations with experimental as well as industrial research groups. We are very keen on trying to relate our theoretical work to applications.
